The Lamoka Atlatl is a replica of many atlatl parts found during the 1950's by William S. Webb's excavations at Indian Knoll, Kentucky. The atlatl handle and spur found in these excavations were made from quality deer antler. I believe this was the most common type of atlatl used during the archaic period. It could be that the tools I find on Lamoka sites were used with this type atlatl for hunting and fishing. Thus the name. Only quality deer antler is used for the handle and spur on every Lamoka atlatl.
